Founders, co-owners, and spouses, Dr. Nemishh Mehta and Dr. Shilpa Mehta, have been practicing in the community they live in for over 20 years. They are plant-based physicians, caring for infants through geriatrics, encouraging healthy living for all their patients.
Known for their personal and intimate setting, Bear Internal Medicine and Pediatrics provides continuity with physician-only visits, including same-day urgent care appointments, and has used eClinicalWorks since 2004.
Their commitment to preventive health and chronic disease management makes them a trusted resource for their community where they care for up to 3 generations of families. They also are a Travel Medicine site, providing travel consultations including yellow fever vaccine administration.
Both physicians completed their undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, their medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and their residencies at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN.
Drs. Mehta have two young adult children that are both graduates of the Appoquinimink School District. Their son Nikhil is also a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and is currently in his last year of medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (Jefferson). Their daughter Shreya is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and currently works in New York City.
